Hello. Lois Standish, who married Hugh Calkins in 1706 in CT is my 8th great-aunt. I just found out about this interesting association when some one told me about the efforts to save the Hugh Calkins residence. (Myles Standish is my 9th great-grandfather.) I look forward to hearing more about the house project.
So glad to that my Aunt Arvilla Calkins Bill sent me info about the cousins years ago! Congratulations on being able to acquire the house and land. Have never been to the East Coast, but plan to in the next year or two and Connecticut in tops on the list to visit the house.
9th g-grandson of Hugh Calkins. My line enters Calkins at Robert Barrass/ Lucinda J. Calkins, Sharon CT. Newman Finch/Maryetta (Barrus) Robert Bailey/Judith (Finch)
Happy to have married into such an illustrious family! Thanks for all the hard work on the association and website!
Very happy I married into this great Calkins Family! I enjoy each newsletter and find the stories of ancestors very interesting. Hats off to all who work hard to create the newsletters and website.
This is for Connie Daniels....Hi!! I hope your holidays we're lovely. My name is Melissa Calkins. I am the genealogical recorder for the Calkins Family Association. I saw your post on the Calkins website guestbook and thought I would reach out to you. I couldn't email you as gmail doesn't recognize your email address. If you can provide me with any information regarding your line of decent, starting with you and which side of the family tree the Calkins family resides on, I can start some research for you. Please try to include dates, places, names, maiden names, etc. Please email me at email@example.com. Have a wonderful evening. Melissa.....
Merry Christmas: One set of my 7th great grandparents is Hugh Roberts and Mary Calkin. At the moment, I am interesting in knowing more about what happened between Gloucester and Newark. Enjoy the Holiday.

Hello! I just found this website, this is AWESOME! I come from Hugh and Ann's son John. Is there someone in our family here in Arizona that would like to meet up for a lunch?
This is a very active family association with helpful, friendly members. And to think anyone with the Calkins name, no matter how you spell it, connects to each other!
I am current on, and have previously been a President of, the Friends of Calkins Nature Area. If you are in the Northcentral Iowa area, and enjoy nature, please stop by the Calkins Nature Area. https://www.facebook.com/CalkinsNatureArea/
This is a very cool website. Glad to be a member of CFA! I'm a direct descendant of Hugh Calkins through his son John, then Samuel, Stephen, Joseph, Levi, Amos, Lucius, Perry W., Perry J, my grandfather Frank and father Don Calkins. It is fun to see other Calkins cousins and relatives. My favorite family site is familysearch.org. I do a lot of research on my ancestors through this site and ancestry.com.
